In distribution, the drive towards the delivery of investment solutions for clients in both the wholesale and institutional markets (rather than simply the placement of product) has led to a significant upgrade in the level of technical investment skills required for business development roles. In manufacturing, the focus on investment performance has never been greater but there is an additional challenge to broaden the asset classes in which investment excellence must be achieved. This is equally true for private banks where the needs of high-net-worth individuals has become increasingly complex.
